WASHINGTON – Wilkinson Walsh + Eskovitz Founding Partner Alexandra Walsh was named one of Law360’s 2019 Trial MVPs of the Year. The award recognizes Walsh for leading “trial teams to a string of crucial victories for Bayer AG this year, persuading juries to reject a certified class action attacking the company’s One A Day vitamins as well as suits over its blood thinner Xarelto.”
In an interview with Law360, Walsh said that the successful defense verdict for Bayer in a $600 million certified consumer class action lawsuit regarding the company’s One A Day vitamins was her biggest accomplishment and biggest challenge of the year. The victory has been lauded as an “all-out win” due to WW+E’s “confidence and strategy.” Law360 also recognized Walsh for her role defending Bayer in a series of bellwether trials over its blood thinner Xarelto.
“Alex’s win reflects what we at WW+E see every day: the work of one of the nation’s best trial lawyers.” said Wilkinson Walsh + Eskovitz partner, Rakesh Kilaru. “Alex consistently inspires the WW+E team with her tireless dedication to achieving positive results for our clients while simultaneously developing the next generation of elite trial lawyers.”
In addition to her trial work, Walsh said that she is motivated by her “desire to leave a lasting mark on the legal industry” – specifically when it comes to “advancing the issues of gender diversity and equality in the law.” Most recently, Walsh was ranked among Benchmark Litigation’s “Top 250 Women in Litigation.” WW+E has been repeatedly recognized as one of the best law firms for female attorneys.
